SAP Leads in ERM, CRM and PSC Application Revenue for SMEs SAP Asia Pacific announced today, for the second time in two months, that a respected industry analyst firm has confirmed its continued market share leadership in the region. In its most recent biannual Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) market share analysis , IDC, a leading provider of global IT research and advice, found SAP further increased its market share year-on-year as the number one enterprise software vendor in the region. Based on software license and maintenance revenue, SAP ranks number one in all enterprise software solutions and seven industry verticals tracked by IDC in APEJ in 2H05. The applications categories measured included Enterprise Resource Management (ERM), also know as ERP and including Human Capital Management (HCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Product Supply Chain (PSC), also known as Supply Chain Management (SCM). ¡§Being named the undisputed leader in Asia Pacific by top analyst firms validates our strategy to expand our lead in the region by serving customer needs with innovative industry solutions and an unparalled partner network,¡¨ said Hans-Peter Klaey, President & CEO, SAP Asia Pacific. ¡§According to this most recent independent analysis available, SAP Asia Pacific¡¦s market share is two-and-a-half that of our nearest competitor, clearly indicating customers¡¦ preference for our industry best practice solutions built on an open platform.¡¨ Industry Leadership The Choice for SMEs ¡§As we¡¦ve been hearing from a number of analysts in the region, SAP is
the only global software vendor offering credible integrated and industry-specific
solutions to small and midsized enterprises in the region. This latest
research indicating our dominance in the SME space seems to back up that
opinion,¡¨ said Pranay Mital, Director, Channel Business, SAP Asia-Pacific.
¡§The success of our channel SME business strategy is central to SAP¡¦s
goal of tripling its customer base by 2010. With the recent go-live of
our PartnerEdge program in the region and more than seven new customers
per working day in Q2 2006, we are well-positioned to continue to advance
the existing leadership indicated in IDC¡¦s research.¡¨
