New
Powerline Network Kit PLTK300 combines space saving design and enhanced
connectivity to help eliminate wireless dead spots in the home
Cisco
today announced the availability of the Linksys by Cisco Powerline
Network Kit PLTK300 which is designed to enable consumers to extend
their existing wired or wireless network across their homes by leveraging
on existing electrical wiring throughout the home. With this Powerline
adapter, any wall socket in the house can be transformed into a
network connection to connect devices such as game consoles, printers,
computers and more to the home network.
Facts/Highlights:
Complementary
technology to Wi-Fi
Powerline is a complementary technology to Wi-Fi and is a great
solution for homes with heavy steel construction or other materials
that block radio signals as it helps eliminate wireless dead spots
in the home. Furthermore, as the Powerline technology leverages
on existing electrical wiring that is already installed in the home,
there is no need to drill holes in walls or install new network
cables.
Space
saving design
The new space saving design makes Powerline adapters easy to use
and won’t block other outlets. Next to the standard adapter with
one network connection there will also be an adapter with integrated
four-port switch.
Connect
multiple devices
By using additional HomePlug adapters, multiple devices can be connected
to the home network across the house enabling the efficient sharing
of resources and access to video, music, digital photos or documents.
Simple
Plug and Play installation
Powerline products are delivered with a preconfigured password that
can be changed by running the installation wizard. The products
work straight out of the box – installation is as easy as connecting
the cables and plugging the adapters into a nearby power socket.

Linksys by Cisco Powerline Network Kit PLTK300 is available from
